TMP Film Shoot with Discover the Journey

I first met Jonathan Olinger at Q Chicago. He had just released a Haiti documentary on orphans for CNN called Rescued. (Watch it here) I was deeply impressed with his heart and dedication to his mission, as he has been to some 40 nations advocating for the fatherless and orphans. We began talking and I found out that he grew up in a fatherless situation, and is now advocates for the fatherless generation. I weep every time I watch his trailer for “No More Tears” about child soldiers in the Congo. Jonathan spent three years in the Congo tracking the life of one boy who was bounced around as a solidier, and finally, with Jonathan’s help, became free. There is hope for those who were once invisible.

This weekend, Jonathan and his team (Discover the Journey) is headed to Portland to help us tell the fatherless story, and to help us communicate what it means to re-write the fatherless story through mentoring. Watch my Twitter feed for filming updates: @johnsowers
